PAUL L. COLLINS Obituary
COLLINS, Paul L. 55, of Waltham, Mass., died June 4, 2018 at the Care Dimensions Hospice House after a 7 year battle with colon cancer. He was born in Manchester, NH on May 10, 1963 the son of Laurence and Marilyn (Despencer) Colllins. He was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Trinity High School where he served as class valedictorian. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree Magna Cum Laude in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University. Paul worked in high tech his entire career and retired from Synopsys, Inc. in 2015. He took an early interest in jigsaw puzzles and chess. Paul loved the outdoors and was an avid skier, hiker and bicyclist. He was also a talented landscape painter. He enjoyed getting together with family and friends and will be fondly remembered as a loving and dedicated husband son, brother, uncle and friend. He was predeceased by his father Laurence Collins in 2001. Members of his family in include his wife of 13 years Amy Kazakoff of Waltham, Mass., his mother Marilyn Collins of Manchester, his brothers David Collins of Manchester, Kevin Collins and his wife Kathryn of Hooksett, Christopher Collins of Raymond and Jonathan Collins of Colorado Springs, Co., his sisters Margaret Baker and her husband George, and Kathryn Barnett, all of Manchester, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14 from 4 to 7 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 15 at 10 am in St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel, 145 Lowell St., Manchester. Urn burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Paul's name be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215 or to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, 1025 Vermont Ave. NW, Suite 1066, Washington, DC 20005.
