Obituary Condolences

MONACO, Philomena "Fran" 91, died peacefully Friday, June 10, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late S. Robert Monaco who predeceased her in 2008. Fran was born in Springfield, MA and was the daughter of the late Nicola and Anna (Palma) Forcella. In her early years she moved to Waltham, MA and years later, after attending secretarial school, she worked at the Raytheon Company. After her marriage in 1957, she and her husband settled in Chelmsford. Throughout the years they enjoyed travelling with family and friends. Her devotion to her church, St. Mary, was exemplary. She became and remained for most of her life an active, involved parishioner. She was a member of the rosary guild, as well as a Eucharistic Minister for the homebound. For many years she and another parishioner were in charge of the parish census. Because of her love for the Blessed Virgin Mary, she took pride in planting flowers at the base of her statue in the front of the church. To her family she was a loving wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law and aunt. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great- nephews, and great- great nieces and nephews; as well as wonderful neighbors and friends. Her Funeral Mass will be held on June 24th at 11 AM in St. Mary Church, Chelmsford. Please Meet At The Church. Interment to follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fran's name to St. Mary Church, 25 North Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford. To leave an online condolence please visit blakefuneralhome.com and find us on Facebook.
