Obituary Condolences

GASPARELLO, Ralph M. Who died on July 11, aged 88, was a Massachusetts man. He grew up in and around Boston, but mostly in Malden, attending Boston Latin and other schools before graduating from Malden High School in 1945. He was president of his high school class, and captain of its football team. He attended Cornell University, played on its football team, and graduated from its school of hotel administration in 1951, after completing his Army service. He married Cornell alumna, Joan Rita Circola of Brooklyn, NY, in 1952. He and his wife moved to Hingham in 1953. For more than 30 years, he worked as a meat broker in Boston. In 1985, he formed the National Association of Senior Travel Planners, which he, his wife and son, Ralph, Jr. ran until 2001. He had wide interests, including an abiding one in his alma mater, music, cooking, public speaking and reading. He is survived by three daughters and a son, Linda Gasparello of West Warwick, RI, Lisa Holt of Newburyport, MA, Nina Moore of San Francisco, CA, and Ralph, Jr. of Merrick, NY, their spouses and seven grandchildren. His wife died in 2005, and his daughter, Paula Jordan of Belton, TX, died in 2012. A private, family memorial ceremony will he held on Nantucket Island.
