REBECCA M. DAHLGREN Obituary
DAHLGREN, Rebecca M. 92, of 10 Allds St., Nashua, NH, formerly of Glasgow Circle, Hudson, NH, and long-time resident of Nashua, died Friday, July 1st, 2016 at Southern NH Regional Medical Center. Rebecca fractured a hip on June 26th 2016, and died from heart complications as a result of the surgery. Rebecca was born March 19th, 1924, in Natick, MA, daughter of the late Maynard and Celia Belle (Davidson) Grindle. She grew up in Sherborn, MA, and graduated from Sawin Academy as Salutatorian of the class of 1942. Rebecca was the widow of the late Victor F. Dahlgren, to whom she was married for 55 years. She had been a member of the Nashua Country Club for 35 years, where she enjoyed playing golf and bridge. Downeast Maine held a special place in her life, due to family ties in the towns of Brooklin and Blue Hill. Rebecca enjoyed spending time at her second home in Harrington, Maine, where she treasured boating trips with family. Music was a life-long interest. Rebecca played the piano, and sang in church choirs for many years, continuing to enjoy concerts and singing as a resident of the Hunt Community. Rebecca had a deep love for animals, and took great pleasure in caring for her pets. Her most special long-time friend was her miniature schnauzer named Sparky. Rebecca's survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Patricia Dahlgren of Bedford, MA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Howard Schmidt of Nashua, NH, and Christine and Alan Huber of Derry, NH; four grandchildren, Meagan Erickson of Hawthorne, CA, Jillian Arena of Jupiter, FL, Matthew Schmidt of Nashua, and Troy Huber of Derry; and four great grandchildren, Jacob and Jocelyn Arena and Griffin and Chase Ericks. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Davis Funeral Home, One Lock St., NASHUA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8 at 10:30 am at the Davis Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Edgewood Cemetery. Family and friends invited to attend.
