BUNKER, Richard J. "Dick" Age 80, born in Norwood, MA to Leone (Cuff) and James Bunker, passed away on April 3, 2016, in Edgewater, FL after a difficult fight with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife and dearest friend of 50 years, Barbara; sons, Mathew and Jon (Jen); granddaughters, Alexa, Maggie, and Caroline; great granddaughter, Parker; Sister, Anne Bunker and brother-in-law, Mathew (Tam) Folan, and his Brother's children; Kathy, Leanne, Tom and Bob. He is proceeded in death by his parents, sister, Jean Folan, and brother, Robert. Dick graduated from Norwood H.S. 1953, where he was class president and then attended the University of Notre Dame on a baseball scholarship. After his 6 year pitching career at the AAA level, he would ultimately end up in Columbus, Ohio working at Scioto County Club, until he retired in 1997. Known to members as Bunkie, he was a fixture on the putting green and grille room. A natural left-handed athlete, Dick was a fine tennis player, scratch golfer, and averaged 200+ pins as a bowler. Most importantly, all who knew him will remember his generosity, kind heart, wit and willingness to help others. No services are planned at this time.
