In Quincy, formerly of Saugus, March 5. Wife of the late Frederick J. Collins. Loving mother of Cristine Waldron & her husband Ray of Quincy, Michael Collins & his wife Jessica of Haverhill. Cherished grandmother of Lena & Collin Waldron, Owen, Aidan & John Collins. Dear sister of Margaret Slocum & her husband Ed of Melrose. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Born & raised in Medford, Rita lived in Saugus for nearly 40 years & was active in the community at the VFW with her husband Fred where they enjoyed socializing with their friends. Rita worked for many years at the former Boston Gas Co. before taking time off to raise her children. She returned to work many years later to work for the Commonwealth in Boston & Chelsea for nearly 20 years. Her last few years were spent in Quincy at The Fenno House & John Adams Health Care Center.
Visitation will be held in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS, on Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Margaret's Church, 431 Lincoln Ave., Saugus, at 11 a.m. Relatives & friends invited. Interment at Riverside Cemetery in Saugus.
