ROBERT DRAYTON Obituary

DRAYTON, Robert Charles A simple and true obituary. Robert Charles Drayton died gently and peacefully at home in Burnsville, NC on April 24, 2018. He was born Robert Karl Dreyfuss in Aachen, Germany on December 28, 1933. He grew up and came of age in Boston, graduating from Bates College in Maine, then after the army, married and raised a family in Dedham and Westwood, where he worked in the printing industry before moving to Tennessee to continue working. He survived his wife Nancy, and their children survive him; Lisa Black of Medfield, Jennifer Durham of Manassas, VA, Charles Drayton, and Rebecca Hudmon both of Jacksonville, FL, their respective spouses, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by his sister Gabrielle Fryklund, of Winchester, MA, and her family, and his remaining family in Germany. He is also survived by his present wife, Marta, and her children; Zachary Zellars, Jessica Zellars, and Nick Irvine, and their families. Bob had great confidence and pride in each of his kids and his step-kids and was pleased to watch them growing into fine people, good parents, and successful adults. He was a hard worker and good provider and felt he had done his job the best he knew how. We will miss him and his strength and humor, and appreciate always his confidence in us. Private services.

My father was an exemplary photographer. He thoroughly enjoyed landscaping and planting trees. He had an artistic eye in all he did.

Chuck, Jen, Lisa, Becky, so very sorry to hear about your father's passing. I have the best memories of you and your parents living next door to us in Westwood a lifetime ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

My dad, our Grumpa is already so very much missed. RIP
