ROBERT D. MACMILLAN Obituary
MacMILLAN, Robert D. Of Holbrook, formerly of Dorchester, passed away at the Weymouth Health Center, surrounded by his loving family, on October 18, 2012, at the age of 82. Born in Boston, Robert grew up in Dorchester where he graduated from Boston Technical High School and later Northeastern University. He was a retired piping designer who had worked for Bethlehem Steel in Quincy, Charles T. Main in Boston and at Polaroid in Waltham. Robert was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson Jackson, who was the light of his life. Robert is survived by his beloved wife Marjorie P. (Adelman) MacMillan. Loving father of Ronald D. MacMillan of Holbrook and Lisa E. Bracken of Bellingham. Dear grandfather of Jackson Robert Bracken. Devoted brother of Donald MacMillan of Osterville, Jean Donnelly of Randolph, Janice Bibber of Berkley, Sandra Dore of Whitman, Alan MacMillan of Weymouth and the late Gordon MacMillan, Kenneth MacMillan and Joan Callahan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St., (Rte. 37) HOLBROOK. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4:00-8:00 PM. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Beacon Hospice, 32 Resnik Rd., Suite 3, Plymouth, MA 02360.
