PLUNKETT, Robert W. Of Belmont and Falmouth, September 3, 2016. Bob passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and four children. Bob was born in Chelsea and spent his formative years in Revere. He graduated from Winchester High School, Boston University and Suffolk Law School. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Mass. Bar Association, and spent most of his career as managing attorney for Kemper Insurance. During his 50 years in Belmont, he served on various councils and in many capacities for his church, first at Our Lady of Mercy and then St. Joseph's. He had a noteworthy 42-year tenure as a Belmont Town Meeting Member. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Eileen, and by their four loving children: Mary and husband Bill Bender of Norwich, VT, Trish and husband Mark Hurley of Richmond, CA; Robert Plunkett Jr. and wife Jennifer Herber of Manhasset, NY, and Andrew Plunkett and wife Keely of Belmont, MA. He is also survived by twelve treasured grandchildren: Ryan, Kristen, Billy, Danny, Michael, Grace, Sara, Kate, Elizabeth, Molly, Sadie and Emmi. He is also survived by his devoted sisters-in-law, Mary J. Doherty and Laurie E. McCarthy of Newton, as well as beloved nieces and nephews Kathleen, Peter, and Stephen McCarthy, all of Newton, and Gayle Evans of Westford; and their children. He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, the Honorable William A. McCarthy, James M. McCarthy, John P. Doherty and by his nephew, William A. McCarthy Jr. Funeral from the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home, 36 Trapelo Rd., BELMONT, Wednesday, September 7 at 9:30 AM. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 130 Common St., Belmont, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Interment, with military honors, will take place at Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory gratefully accepted for "Reach out and Read/Pediatric Fund" at Mt.
