Rose Doherty Obituary

DOHERTY, Dr. Rose T. 81, of Brockton, formerly of Randolph, Aug. 20, 2009; daughter of the late John F. & Mary (Hegarty) Doherty; raised in Roslindale & Dorchester; earned a Nursing degree from St. Margaret's School of Nursing, both a Bachelor & Masters degree from Boston College, a Masters degree from Fordham University, & a Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Ottawa; retired after 23 years as a psychologist at Royal Ottawa Hospital in Ottawa, Canada; a devout Catholic & former communicant of St. Mary Church in Randolph; member of both the American Psychologist Association & Canadian Psychologist Association; godmother to many children; volunteered in Canada for Youville; enjoyed reading & loved animals, played the harmonica, accordion, banjo & guitar by ear. Rose was the beloved sister of Theresa Mason of Brockton & the late Patrick Doherty, John Doherty, Mary O'Brien & Beatrice Amrhein & a loving aunt of many nieces & nephews of several generations. All are welcome to calling hours Sunday 2-7 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, funeral from Waitt Funeral Home at Monday at 8 a.m., funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Edith Stein Parish & burial at New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
