PETERS, The Reverend

Rosemary Lawson 82, died peacefully on May 16, 2016. Born in Buffalo, NY and raised in Newton, Massachusetts and Scarsdale, NY, Rosemary graduated from Wellesley College in 1956 and after raising two children she entered the seminary and graduated from the Andover Newton Theological School in 1987. Ordained as an American Baptist minister in 1987, she served as the Pastor to churches in western New York state and Connecticut for ten years. She returned to Massachusetts and served as Interim Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Brockton, First Baptist Church of Hanover and the First Baptist Church of Norwood until her retirement in 2006. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen W. and Joseph F. Jason, of Middleborough, Massachusetts and her son and daughter-in-law, T. Philip C. Williams and Beth Wilson of Kittery Point, Maine, two grand children, Selbie L. Jason and Jesse L. Jason and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces. A memorial service will be held at The United Parish of Carver on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11am, with her interment to take place in the summer. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her memory to the First Baptist Church of Brockton or The United Parish of Carver.
