KENNEDY, Sallie E. Sallie Eugenia Tilford Kennedy died peacefully in the hospital on July 8, 2016 in Boston, Massachusetts at the age of 83. Sallie is survived by her son, Charles David Kennedy from Ann Arbor, MI; her grandchildren, Jarred Charles Kennedy and his wife Laura Kennedy, Justin Francis Kennedy, Kyla Jule Kennedy and her husband Jonathan Garrett, Christian Bradley Kennedy, Katherine Riegle Kennedy, Elizabeth Flanders Kennedy, and William Grant Kennedy; and her three great-grandchildren, Elise Julia Kennedy, Jasper Dax Kennedy, and Axel James Kennedy. She is preceded by two of her children, Deborah Alberta Kennedy and Bradley Grant Kennedy, the father of her children, Eugene Kennedy Jr., and her beloved husband, Dennis Shepard. Sallie was born on March 4, 1933 in Columbia, Missouri, the last of 7 children born to Clarence Tilford and Mollie Grant. She graduated from Malden High School in Malden, MA through their college preparatory program and attended classes at Boston University. She also completed courses at the Boston Clerical School. She married Eugene C. Kennedy Jr., her high school sweetheart, on July 24th, 1951. The couple welcomed three children into the world— Deborah, Charles, and Bradley. Sallie provided a happy childhood for her beloved children, investing in their education and always encouraging them to pursue their goals. She spent many years working for Boston University, where she is remembered for her easy smile, love of knowledge, and great sense of humor. A lifelong performer, Sallie appeared in dozens of shows with her local theater and worked in Boston's Wang Theatre for several years. Sallie enjoyed reading, the stage, and entertaining friends and family. She is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family. She had an insatiable zest for life and an unshakable honesty. She will be dearly missed. Private ceremony.
