SARAH M. DAVIS Obituary
DAVIS, Sarah M. Passed away on March 31st at Cape Cod Hospital after a brief illness at the age of 93. Sarah was born to a prominent family in Utica, NY in 1922. In due course she graduated from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY where she majored in Music History. She was a member of the graduating class of 44-45. In March of 1946, she married Holbrook R. Davis of Osterville and over the next 30 years they lived in Boston, Switzerland, Connecticut and Montreal, Canada. They eventually returned to Cape Cod where they made their home in Osterville having retired in 1975. Sally is survived by her husband of 70 years, Holbrook R. Davis, her sons Maynard K. Davis and Caleb N. Davis and her daughter Sarah H. Davis, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. While living and working abroad, Sally was active in many charitable organizations especially in Montreal, Canada. Later she was President of Cape Cod Conservatory of Music & Arts in Falmouth, and she was also Senior Warden of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Osterville. As a member of the Colonial Dames of America she was proud of being a direct descendant of Governor Bradford of Plymouth. She will be lovingly remembered by friends and family as a conscientious, considerate, courageous and compassionate woman. A memorial service will be held in her honor at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 421 Wianno Avenue, (P.O. Box 437), Osterville, MA 02655, on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at 11 am.
