STANLEY R. SULIS

1924 - 2017

SULIS, Stanley R., Jr. Of Duxbury, MA passed away suddenly on July 1, 2017. He was born in Braintree, MA in 1924 to Greta (Locke) and Stanley R. Sulis. He was the beloved husband of Audrey (Pike) Sulis with whom he shared 71 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Dr. Carol Sulis and her husband Dr. Michael Thane of Hingham, MA, Gretchen Sulis of Falmouth, MA, and Heidi Sulis and her husband Ronald Hallman of Middlebury, Vermont. He was the dear brother of the late Greta Olsen. He was the cherished grandfather of four grandchildren and one great- grandchild. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. After graduating from Yale University in the V-12 program with the US Navy, he finished Officer`s Training School at Columbia University and was sent to Pearl Harbor until the end of World War II. Mr. Sulis spent 22 years as an engineer at the General Electric Co before moving to Ohio to manage the Reliance Electric Co. He returned to Massachusetts to work at Spirit Inc. until he retired and moved to West Falmouth, MA. In 2013 he moved to the Village at Duxbury, a retirement community surrounded by caring staff and special friends.A memorial service in honor and remembrance of Stanley`s life will be held by the Shepherd Funeral Home at a later date.
