AMY KEOUGH

January 2, 2009

Dear Stephen,

We are entering yet another new year,
Oh it saddens us so that you are not here.
The holidays now passed, we barely made it through,
Everyone’s thoughts so consumed with you.
Your presence still lingers, we can feel you are near.
Remember the Santa you made for Christmas that year?
It was hung by the fireplace, as usual, with care.
Adored by so many , we all miss you so much!!
your smile, your laughter, your loving touch.
All of us wondering, searching for why,
drowning in oceans of tears we have cried.
Although the time for us to part has come,
and you seem so far away, we know you're
in a better place, where angels light the way.
We love you and miss you, in our hearts you will always stay.

Stephen, It's Christmas Eve, and your not physically here with us. We are lost without you. Not a day goes by that tears are not shed. Not a moment goes by that your not running through our hearts and minds. Last night I was shopping and I saw your face in a stranger. Then I saw Dad's face in another stranger. I know your telling me that you guys are always around. I love you and miss you more than words could ever express. Our family is incomplete, there are too many breaks in the circle. I long for the day that our circle is whole again. Merry Christmas Dudie, I hope you have your "RED RIDER BEEBEE GUN WITH A COMPASS, AND A STOCK, AND A THING THAT TELLS TIME!" I wonder how many times did you watch "The Christmas Story" with us. I can't say it enough I love and miss you!. Your lil sis.

Stephen, I never did say thank you for giving me a part of you to live, love and grow old with - "Thank you for our son". Even though we parted ways, I never stopped loving you and will always love you and I know that you truely loved your Beanie too! I see you in Cameron so much, he's got your funny sense of humor that always makes me crack up or I just have to watch him run around and I see you. You now can watch him each moment - guide him, love him and protect him from the heavens above!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dude, you were my best friend, my brother, and will always be in my thoughts, prayers, and mostly my empty heart. I still can't believe you are not here with me. There are so many things that I would like to say to you, but mostly I LOVE YOU, since that was the last thing we said to each other. GOD must have been short on great people, or he never would have called on you. Bro I miss you more and more with every breath. So much that I want to hold my breath forever. Please take care of my MOM up there, and make her laugh (like you always did) and let her know we are alright, and I will do my very best to do the same for all of us you left behind. I know you are in a better place, but Cynthia and I long for the day just to see your face. I know that you will always be here for me, so when GOD calls my name, we'll be back together like the way it should be. LOVE YOU BRO!!!! JIM

Dudie, words cannot begin to express how much we love & miss you. You were my big brother, and Jim's best friend. You were so loving & giving that you gave your little sister your best friend, my husband. I never thought that I would ever have to live without you, and I'm not sure how to do that. I know that you, Dad, and Kim are watching, and guiding us all the way. I can't wait for the day when we'll all be together again. GIDDY UP!!!!!
Love Always and forever, Cyn (Cheesey) & Jim oxoxoxox

I AM NOT THERE ~ Hopi Indian prayer

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
