Obituary Condolences

BUDMAN, Susan Of Boca Raton, 71, died unexpectedly July 13 surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and loving sister and aunt, whose last 15 years coping with Parkinson's Disease modeled grit and fortitude inspiring those around her. A long and fulfilling career as a social worker, then administrator and chief financial officer in her late husband's health technology business, reflected a powerful mix of professionalism, warmth, caring and entrepreneurship. A large circle of family and friends relied upon her for unsurpassed holiday hospitality in Newton, MA, year after year, with generations connected and sustained by her love and cuisine. Susan is survived by her cherished daughters, Gabrielle Fisher and Shari Matusow, and dear sons-in-law Brian Fisher and Jordan Matusow. Her five grandchildren, Nellie, Bailey, and Josie Fisher and Chase and Emery Matusow were the joyful lights of her life as well as of her recently deceased husband's. Her marriage to Simon lasted 49 years, with his untimely death in 2017. Susan and Si met as camp counselors when she was 18 years old, and married three years later. Her devoted sister Lori Jacobs provided care, companionship and adventure in the last year and a half as Susan's illness ravaged her body but not her spirit or dignity. A private internment service was held July 19, 2018 at Sharon Gardens, Valhalla,NY; memorial celebration of her life to be scheduled later this year. Donations in her memory can be made to https://www.michaeljfox.org/get-involved/donation2.php, or the Parkinson's Support Program, https://www.jfcsboston.org/Donors/Donate-Online.
