ASSAMNEW, Tessema Of Winthrop, formerly of Ethiopia, suddenly, on October 12, 2012. Beloved husband of Karen M. True. Devoted father of Alyssa Tessema True of Winthrop. Cherished son of the late Assamnew Asfia and Mulunesh Cheria of Ethiopia. Dear brother of Mengistu Assamnew of Ethiopia and the late Alemu Assamnew & Petros Assamnew of Ethiopia. Cremation Service was private with burial to follow at a later date in Flying Point Cemetery in Freeport, Maine. Donations in his memory may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center/High Hopes Fund, 1 Joslin Pl., Boston, MA 02215. Tessema was the retired owner of the Kersa Cab, Inc. of Boston. He served in the Ethiopian Imperial Navy and the Greek Merchant Marines. Funeral arrangements were from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., WINTHROP.
