STOUT, Thomas C. 86 of Rutland, MA formerly of Concord, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at UMass Medical Center: University Campus surrounded by his loving family.|
Tom is survived by his son, Jordan H. Stout of Alameda, CA; his daughter, Caroline R. Duncan and her husband Scott of Rutland, MA; four beloved grandchildren, Erin, Shannon, Matthew and Timothy; and a brother, Franklin Stout of Baltimore, MD. He is predeceased by his son, Timothy C. Stout and a brother, Robert Stout.
Tom was born in New York City, a son of the late Robert and Mason (Crittenden) Stout. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri where he graduated from Pembroke Country Day School, Class of 1949. Tom furthered his education by graduating with his bachelor's degree from Yale University in mechanical engineering and a master's from Harvard Business School. He was the owner of the former Moor & Mountain in Concord, MA. He later moved to Reading, VT, where he worked as a computer programmer.
Tom loved the outdoors. He enjoyed sailing, hiking, whitewater canoeing and cross country skiing. He played the fife as a member of the Concord Minutemen.
