GARNEAU, Thomas J. Retired B.P.D., of Dorchester on November 17, 2016. Beloved son of Anna (Martell ) Garneau of Dorchester, formerly of Walpole, & the late Joseph A. Garneau. Loving brother of Joanne Pereira of Brockton, Edward Garneau of Kingston, Jeanne Mourad of Walpole, & the late Ellen Garneau of South Boston. Dear close friend of Jacqueline McGowan Sweeney and many other cherished and supportive friends. Also survived by many beloved nieces & nephews. Special thanks to all the people who supported Lungevity Boston Area Lung Cancer Walk. Visiting hours in the John J. O'Connor & Son Funeral Home, 740 Adams St. (near Gallivan Blvd.) DORCHESTER, Monday from 4-8pm. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Tuesday at 1:30pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Tommy loved deep-sea fishing for stripers, golf outings in Myrtle Beach with friends, spending time with his nieces and nephews, travelling, especially to Ireland to visit close friends. He was a proud member of the USMC and a Little League baseball coach with the Millstream Athletic Association for 10 years. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Tommy's name to the Seasons Hospice Foundation or to the Emerald Society of the Boston Police.
