1943 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
McGUIRE, Thomas J. Of Quincy, age 72, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo, Ireland on October 13, 1943, a son of the late John and Kathleen (Murphy) McGuire. Tom immigrated to the United States in 1961 and settled in the Boston area with his two sisters and had lived in Quincy for thirty-six years. He proudly served our country in the United States Army Reserve. Tom was the well-known owner and operator of ABC Construction of Quincy for many years. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth P. "Liz" (Grady) McGuire. Devoted brother of Mary Mooney of Woburn, the late Anne Keenan and her husband James K. Keenan of Weymouth. Brother-in-law of Ann McDonough and her husband Gabriel of Jamaica Plain, Mary Daly and her husband Daniel of West Roxbury and Joseph Grady and his wife Frances of Tolland, CT. Tom is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Tuesday, May 17th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Monday from 5 - 8 p.m. Interment Saint Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury.
