O'CONNOR, Timothy

"Brendan" Longtime resident of Milton, age 68, died, Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his loving family. He was born, raised and educated in County Kerry, Ireland and had lived in Milton for the past thirty-five years. Brendan immigrated to the United States in March of 1967. He met his wife, Sally, shortly thereafter at an Irish dance on Dudley Street in Roxbury. Brendan worked in the trades alongside his uncles in Norwood and for the Greater Boston utility companies across the city. In the 1980s, he joined the Carpenters Union as a hard-working and talented tradesman. He was a longtime member of the Irish Cultural Centre of New England in Canton and was an active parishioner of Saint Agatha Church in Milton. Brendan enjoyed spending time with family and friends on New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee and was proud to be part of the West Point of Long Island Association. He always enjoyed trips to Ireland to visit relatives and friends. Brendan was a man among men. A warm, kind-hearted, and generous person of quiet strength. He was completely devoted to his family and was especially proud of his four sons and their accomplishments. Beloved husband for forty-four years of Sarah A. "Sally" (Nolan) O'Connor. Devoted father of Brian T. O'Connor and his wife Kristi of Squantum, Timothy B. O'Connor II of South Boston, Kevin A. O'Connor of New York City, New York, and the late Noel E. O'Connor.
