VASILEOS I. PAVLOGLOU Obituary
PAVLOGLOU, Vasileos I. "Bill" Of Hudson and Wayland, died on May 14, 2016. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Eugenia Pavloglou and his daughters Panorea Pavloglou and Evangela Jones and her husband Stephen Jones. He was predeceased by his brother Rev. George I. Paulson and Peter I. Paulson. He was "Papou" to Stacie and Joshua Lewis, Shannon Collette and Jeffrey Collette. He was great "Papou" to Trevor, Taygan, Samantha and Tristan. Also a special "Papou" to Veronica and Luke. Vasileos was born in Springfield on January 14, 1923, the son of the late Ignatios and Panorea Pavloglou. He was a proud member of the US Army Air Corps, and served in the 12th Troop Carrier Squadron during World War II. He was a graduate of Northeastern University and Babson College. Following a career in finance, he retired from Carney Hospital in Dorchester. For many years, Vasileos was an active member of the community working for his church, and was elected Assessor in Wayland. He enjoyed working in the yard, traveling with his family (especially his vacations in Aruba with his wife) and especially his Cool Whip. The family wished to thank Ausi and Jocelyn for their care and devotion to Bill. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), WAYLAND. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 10:00 am at Saints Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, 9 Central Street, Marlborough. Interment will follow in the Pavloglou family lot in North Cemetery in Wayland. In lieu of flowers, Vasileos' family request memorial gifts in his memory may be sent to the Saints Anargyroi Church or the Greek Metropolis of Boston, ATTN: Philoxenia House, 162 Goddard Street, Brookline, MA 02445.
