ILFELD, Virginia "Ginny"

(Dammann) 71, of Brewster, MA, formerly of Westwood, passed away April 2, 2016 at the Hope Hospice McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, with her 2 children by her side, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.Born in Mount Vernon, NY and raised in Larchmont, she was the youngest daughter of Charles and Ruth Dammann. After earning an Associate's Degree from Endicott College, she spent over 20 years working at the Massachusetts College of Art as the Office Manager for their Continuing Education program. While working full time and raising 2 children, she also went back to school to get her BS degree from Lesley College. Having spent many summers in Cape Cod, Ginny's heart never left, and she eventually made the move to full time resident of Brewster in 2013. She was a member of the Captains Golf Course and Captains 9 Hole Women's League where she was a social committee member. She also was a member of the Dennis Pines Ladies bowling league and a weekly mahjong group. She could be found most sunny days on the beach with a good book in her hand and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Michael Ilfeld and his wife Amy of Charlotte, NC and her daughter, Nancy Hamilton and her husband Dan of Pembroke, MA. Cherished Nana to Abigail, Luke, Brady, and Matthew. Loving sister to Francis Ricciardi of Albuquerque, NM and Aunt to Andrea Ricciardi of NM, Lisa Dement of GA, and Elaine Ricciardi of GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hope Hospice McCarthy Care Center, 73 Service Rd, East Sandwich, MA 02537. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation that will be held from 3p-5p on Saturday, April 16th at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, ORLEANS, MA. Burial will take place at 2pm on Sunday, April 17th in the Brewster Memorial Cemetery on Route 124. A funeral service will follow at 3pm at the Nickerson Funeral Home, Orleans.
