VITO S. CANNAVO Obituary
CANNAVO, Vito S. Age 76, of Braintree, formerly of Watertown, died peacefully, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Vito was born in Cambridge, raised and educated in Watertown schools and was a graduate of Watertown High School. He has lived in Braintree for thirty-seven years, previously in Watertown for many years. He was the former owner of the United Courier Service and Century Courier, Inc. in Watertown. He later worked for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority as a records management coordinator for ten years, having retired in 2001. Vito was an active parishioner of the Church of Saint Clare in Braintree for over forty years and served as a church usher for thirty years. He was a former baseball coach and past president of the Braintree Little League. Vito was proud to be a Boston Bruins season ticket holder for over forty years. He enjoyed all sports and participated in the St. Clares bowling league for thirty years. He also enjoyed cooking and antique cars. Beloved husband for forty-eight years of Mary G. (Blake) Cannavo. Devoted father of Stephen V. Cannavo and his wife Suanne of Rockland, Frances M. Dee Roberts and her husband Robin of St. Johns, Florida, and John N. Cannavo, Esq. and his wife Paula of Middleboro. Loving grandfather of Jennifer L. Martin of Newburyport, Stephen V. Cannavo, Jr. of Rockland, John Vito Cannavo and Madeline Cannavo, both of Middleboro, and Stephen C. Roberts of St. Johns, Florida. Cherished great-grandfather of Sophia and Zackery. Brother of Mary Colantino of Dennisport, the late John N. Cannavo, and the late Nicholas Cannavo and also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Ave., QUINCY, Monday, May 12th at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Church of Saint Clare, 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree at 11:30 a.m. Relatives & friends are invited to attend.
