DEISS, Walter J. Of Norton, formerly of Dedham, died at Wingate of Norton on November 22, 2016. He was 93. Beloved husband of 62 years to Mary E. (Maloney) Deiss. Walter was born in Quincy he was the son of the late Louis P. and Margaret T. (Joyce) Deiss. He was a graduate of North Quincy High School. He served his country in the Army during W.W. II. For over 49 years Walter was employed by the Boston Gas Company as a draftsman. He also played many wind instruments for several orchestras which include performing at weddings and other special occasions. Besides his wife he is survived by two children, Karen McDonald and her husband Ken of Mansfield and Karl Deiss and his wife Laura of Dedham; three grandchildren, Matthew K. McDonald, Robert F. McDonald and David S. McDonald; two sisters, Ruth Bauer and Lois Cody. He was also grandfather of the late Stephen R. McDonald. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt Street (Rt.106) Mansfield, on Monday, November 28th at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery. |
Calling hours will be held at the Bolea - Amici Funeral Home, 115 N. Main Street, MANSFIELD, on Sunday, November 27th from 1 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to House Of Possibilities, 350 Washington St., N. Easton, MA 02356.
