DONOVAN, William Daniel, Jr. William Daniel Donovan Jr. June 8, 1938-November 3, 2016 Born in Boston to William Daniel Donovan and Anne Margaret (Barrington) Donovan and formerly of Framingham, MA, Dennis, MA, and St. Pete's Beach, Florida. Entered into eternal rest after a long and brave battle with cancer on November 3rd in St. Pete Beach, Florida with his loving wife Jacqueline at his side. William (Skip) graduated from St. Columbkille High School in 1956, Boston College 1962, and earned his MBA from University of Detroit in 1963. Starting in his career at The Ford Motor Company he would eventually move on to The Gillette Company from where he retired after 35 years. In his retirement he moved to Cape Cod and engaged in many pursuits such as the Lions, Dennis Public Library, The Cape Cod Playhouse, golf, and even scalloping on occasion. While the New England Patriots were near and dear to his heart, nothing brought him more joy and contentment than watching and helping his children and grandchildren succeed at their endeavours. Besides his parents, William is predeceased by his sister Joan Marie Donovan, but is survived by his sister Anne Barrington (Donovan) Coady of Centerville, MA. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Jacqueline (Wood) Donovan. His devoted daughters and their husbands Martha Anne (Donovan) and Paul Chapin of Middleboro, MA. Sara Elizabeth (Donovan) and Paul Nixon of Freeport Me. Kate Barrington (Donovan) and Daryl Chesley of Mechanicsville VA. His cherished grandchildren: Mary Abigail Chapin, Matthew Tae Donovan Chapin, Paul Williams Nixon, Joseph MacLean Nixon, William Henry Chesley, Luke Barrington Chesley and Sidney Rose Chesley. His treasured sister in law Michelle Anne Wood of Hampden, ME. Services and a small reception were held November 6th in St Pete Beach. A memorial mass will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the hospice or cancer .
