WILLIAM F. PALMER Obituary
PALMER, William F. 86, of Framingham, passed away on Saturday, May 28th, 2016. He was the husband for 56 years of Patricia (Nutting) Palmer. He was born in Worcester, MA, the son of Willard and Anne (Smith) Palmer. Bill attended Worcester Preparatory School and South High School. After graduating from Worcester Junior College and Boston University, he served in the cryptographic section of the Seventh Army at headquarters in Germany. After his discharge, he graduated with honors from Bentley School of Accounting and Finance. He accepted a position with the public accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst, during which time he passed the examination for Certified Public Accountant. He held several positions in finance, including Corporate Controller at Data General Corporation and Vice President of Finance at Codex Corporation.Bill had been active in the Rhode Island Dahlia Society, and his Framingham neighbors and family enjoyed his blooming dahlia garden. Other interests included travel, playing the piano, painting and reading, especially history. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Lynne Carrelli (Dale) of Redwood Shores, CA, Alayne Palmer of Framingham, Brian Palmer (Jeanmarie Faherty) of Wakefield, RI and Kristin Palmer (Neil Fishman) of Bothell, WA, three grandchildren (Ryan, Mark and Carolyn), his brothers Richard (Eileen) Palmer, George (Joanne) Palmer, and preceded in death by brother Jack Palmer, and many nieces and nephews.
