WILLIAM T. ECCLES Obituary
ECCLES, William T. 79, of Wallingford, CT, loving husband of Eileen Fitzgerald Eccles, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. Bill was born in Boston, MA, May 16, 1934, a son of the late Thomas G. Eccles and Ann Prendergast Eccles and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. Bill was a 1952 graduate of the Boston Latin School and a 1956 graduate of Harvard College, where he received his B.A. He later served for 5 years with the U.S. Air Force, receiving the rank of Captain, and attended the Harvard Business School, graduating in 1963 with an MBA. Bill was employed as a Senior Systems Engineer for IBM for 30 years until his retirement. He was an active member of the Lions Club and volunteered at the Wallingford Senior Center, teaching computer classes for many years. In addition to his wife Eileen, he is survived by his three sons Thomas J. Eccles and his wife Jennifer of Virginia, Robert W. Eccles and his wife Tracy of Suffield, CT, and David M. Eccles and his wife Catherine of Maryland; three grandchildren Anna E. Eccles, Michael R. Eccles and Alexandra E. Eccles; his brother Thomas G. Eccles and his wife Patricia of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Sunday, October 13, 2013 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 14, from The Wallingford Funeral Home at 9 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
