WACHS, Judith T. (Steinbaum) Of Cambridge, On Thursday, October 9, 2008 at age 70. Founder and Artistic Director of the Sephardic music group, Voice of the Turtle. Cherished partner of Gilda L. Bruckman for 26 years. Beloved mother of Cynthia F. Scarr and her husband Tzvi, Jonathan S. Wachs and his wife Lynn, and Joshua Wachs. Exuberant grandmother of nine grandsons; Itzik, Binyomin, Yaakov, Yonti, Chaim and Moishy Scarr, Sam and Henry Wachs and Oliver Wachs. Devoted sister of Michael J. Tidhar and loving aunt to Gilboa, Noam and Tsur Tidhar. She was a natural and talented musician, an accomplished researcher of Sephardic musical traditions, and a vibrant force in many communities throughout her life. Services at the Levine Chapel, 470 Harvard Street, BROOKLINE, on Sunday October 12 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord. Memorial observance at the home of Gilda Bruckman and Judy Wachs, Sunday 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and Monday 10:00 am. to 4:00 pm.
