HOWELL, Edna Age 86, died Oct 12, 2009 in Concord NH. Edna Howell was born in Sanford, Maine, to Forrest H. and Della Savary Thompson on April 14, 1923. She grew up in Athol and Longmeadow, MA, attended Boston University and graduated from Mary Washington College. After college she worked as a draftsman at Boston University where she met and later married Hutson K. Howell in 1949. Edna was an accomplished artist and was a part owner of an art shop in Needham. She and her husband were very active in the Needham community until Hutson retired, when they moved to Brewster, and later Chatham MA. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Harland Thompson. Edna is survived by four children: Dale Howell and his wife Sharon of Newark OH; Carol Michael of Allenstown and Sandwich NH; Laura Griffith and her husband Gordon of Lancaster PA.and Tybee Island GA, and Bruce Howell and his wife Susan of Needham MA. Edna also leaves behind six grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
