LUFTMAN, Alvin S. Of Westborough, formerly of Natick on Sunday, March 20, 2011. For 59 years the beloved husband of Ruth R. (Hamburger). Devoted father of Henry, Jacob, and Eric and father-in-law of Patricia Luftman, Nora Luftman and Elise Kleinwaks. Loving "Gramps" of Nathan & Natalie, Lee & Hannah, Gavriel & Sarit. Dear son of the late Jacob Luftman and Ruth (Reinstein) and brother of the late Donald Luftman. Alvin was an employee of Raytheon for forty years; President of Temple Israel of Natick, 1974-1977; Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 40 of Natick, 1961-1970; and a volunteer at the National Archives and Records Administration. Services at Temple Israel of Natick, 145 Hartford Street, Natick on Tuesday, March 22 at l:00 pm. Burial at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. Following the burial, memorial observance will be at the late residence until 8:00 pm and continuing Wednesday and Thursday, 3-5 pm & 7-8 pm, and Friday 10 am-12 noon. Please omit flowers. I just learned of Al's passing and my thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was funny, thoughtful and kind: always sharing his knowledge and stories of his journey. He loved his family of whom he talked about all the time and was very proud of his sons and their families. He will be missed.

Mr. Luftman was always so outgoing and friendly - and he definitely enjoyed entertaining us all. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this sad time.

So sorry to hear of Al's passing (I would have written "Mr. Luftman" but then he would correct me and tell me to call him "Al"). My memories of him will always be of his great story-telling and singing -- he loved an audience! You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
