TIMOTHY HEFFERNAN Obituary

HEFFERNAN, Timothy J. 79, of Framingham, died on Monday, August 27, 2012 after a short illness. Born in Boston, son of the late Daniel Heffernan and Emma (Josselyn) Shields, he was the husband of the late Josephine T. (Cullinane) Heffernan, who died in May of 2004. He was a graduate of Bentley College and attended Harvard Business School. He served with the US Air Force in Germany during the Korean War. He retired as an assistant treasurer for the Boston Edison, where he was employed for thirty years. Timothy loved to paint. He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen A.Thornton and her husband Paul of Worcester and Erin T. Cashman and her husband John of Boxborough; three brothers, Jack Heffernan and his wife Betty of North Chelmsford, Daniel Heffernan and his wife Anne of McDonough, Georgia and Robert Heffernan and his wife Joan of East Bridgewater; five grandchildren, Timothy Rondeau, Meghan Rondeau, Sean Cashman, Maggie Cashman and Danny Cashman and many beloved nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, 251 Concord Street, Framingham. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home will be on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in memory of his late loving wife to the American Cancer Society, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. I knew Tim for years while at Boston Edison. Tim, Bob Degnan and I shared many memorable "attitude adjustment hours" together. His humor and outlook on life will be greatly missed.
My sincere sympathy in your loss.

I worked for Tim when I first moved to Boston in the early 80's. He was so nice. I would go into his office for a chat and admire his artwork. We had some stressful projects that we worked on together.
