Obituary Condolences

SYLVA, John Of Arlington, MA, passed away on his 95th birthday, March 11, 2013, after a brief illness. Pre-deceased by his wife of 60 years, Hester (Felix) Sylva, and his brothers, Ivan and Joseph Sylva. He is survived by his son, Jay A. Sylva and daughter-in-law, Mary Rizzo Sylva with whom he resided, his brother, Anthony Sylva and sister-in-law, Ida of Medford, sisters-in-law, Joy (Holland) Sylva of Malden and Ann R. (Viglirolo) Sylva. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. Born in Providence, RI, John was a retired Federal employee, musician, and WW II veteran. He was a member of the VFW and the American Atheists. He enjoyed music, photography, and had a notorious sweet tooth. John was interred March 13th at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington.
