SULLIVAN, Mary F. (Ferguson) 92, of Needham, MA, formerly of Delray Beach, FL and Buffalo, NY, died March 27, 2013. She was born in Lockport, NY and graduated from Chatham Hall, VA and Vassar College. Her husband, the late James R. Sullivan, a surgeon, was a former doctor for the Buffalo Bills football team and Chief of Staff at Sheridan Park Hospital. She was the mother of the late James C. "Mike" Sullivan, Elizabeth S. "Lisa" Bond of Needham, formerly of Wellesley, and Kenneth F. Sullivan of New York City. Mary was the loving grandmother of Laura B. Sunderland who lives with her husband Kevin in Eliot, ME and Edward F. "Ted" Bond of Needham, MA. She embraced Lisa's step-daughters as her own grandchildren: Anne L. Taggart who lives with her husband Michael and 2 sons in Summit, NJ and Heather B. Weisenfluh who lives with her husband Bart and 3 children in Falmouth, ME. Mary volunteered for many Buffalo organizations: Childrens' Hospital, Trinity Church, American Field Service, and was Chairman of the Western NY Vassar Scholarship Fund. She served on the Board of Directors of the Buffalo Seminary, an independent secondary school for young women. Her enthusiasm, interest in life, and sense of humor were contagious and she instilled loyalty and love from those who worked with her. She maintained a positive outlook and continued to find ways to make people laugh, even if in the last months it was only with a wink. A Memorial Service - A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 2 pm at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 23 Dedham Ave. in Needham. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to: The Seeing Eye, P.O.
