RHEA KOVAR SOSSEN Obituary
Sossen, Rhea Kovar
Of Belmont, formerly of Sherborn, passed away unexpectedly at age 87 from natural causes. She leaves her son David Sossen, daughter Nina Sossen, grandchildren, Abigail Sossen and Jack Lawson, and great-grandchild Mackenzie. Her daughter, Paula Lawson, brother, Leo Kovar and former husband, Harold Sossen, all predeceased her. Rhea was born in Albany, New York, the younger child of Nahum and Bessie Kovar. She graduated from Radcliffe College and spent her career as a scientist, pianist and piano teacher, and poet. She was a long-time member of the Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement. A graveside ceremony will be held on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. at the Congregation Adath Israel Cemetery, 714 Pine Street, Middletown, CT. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Sherborn, MA. Donations may be made in Rhea's name to the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
