Obituary Condolences

GLABE, Robin Elizabeth (Stumpf) 66, of Lexington, died on December 18, 2013. Beloved by Bruce Glabe, her husband of 41 years, daughters Lindsey Schrader of Arlington and Carolyn Noble of Lexington, and grandchildren Abigail, Benjamin, Jane and Elise. She is also survived by her mother, Karen Stumpf of Falmouth, and brothers Kurt Hammond, Christian Stumpf and Michael Stumpf. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Karen and the late John Stumpf, Robin spent her childhood in Detroit; Washington, DC; Calcutta, India; Casablanca, Morocco, and Rye, NY. Robin was a graduate of Northeastern University. Lexington resident since 1977, known for her tireless and caring work with children as a special needs educator in the Lexington elementary schools. Robin had a passion for the Maine coast, as a sailor for many years and later also a resident on the Damariscotta River in Maine. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, at the Parish of the Epiphany, 70 Church Street, Winchester with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a fund for college-bound scholars with financial need that Robin led and served for many years: Lexington PTA Scholarship Fund (Care of Board of Selectmen, 1625 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington, MA 02420).
