RICHARD K. BREHM Obituary
BREHM, Richard K. Long-time resident of Lexington, MA, and recently a resident of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2013 after a long illness. Richard was born April 17, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN. He served in the U.S. Navy during and after WW II. He graduated from Marquette University and earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Iowa State University. Richard worked in the Spectroscopy Division of the Atomic Energy Commission in Ames, IA, before moving to the Boston area in 1954. He was employed by the Jarrell-Ash Company (developer of scientific instruments) in Newtonville, MA, where he became vice president, a member of the Board of Directors, and head of the Engineering department. Richard had many interests; flying, fishing on Nantucket, gourmet cooking, and electronics. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marian of Florida, sister Virginia (Englund) of Maryland, daughter Marcia (Shields) of Florida, son Jeffrey of Texas, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
