Age 86, formerly of Foxboro and Buzzards Bay died Thursday, January 23, 2014. She was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary T. (Dolan) O'Connell. Frances was born on May 2, 1927 in Boston. She was a graduate of Boston Latin High School and during her teenage years she was a professional model in the Boston area. Frances was employed as a secretary for the Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Company and the Foxboro Company. She was a volunteer for the Foxboro Farm Stand and Meals On Wheels. She was an active member and enjoyed traveling with the Foxboro Seniors Citizens. She loved gardening with her neighbors and traveling with Len and her special friends. Frances was devoted to the care of her parent and in-laws and then her beloved "Len". Beloved wife of the late Leonard A. Selander. Sister of the late John J. O'Connell, Jr. and Helen L. Gleason. She also leaves her brother and sisterin-law Harold and Pat Selander of VA. She was pre-deceased by cousins John and Earl Dalton and Billy and Frank Martyn. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Frances' family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lanessa Extended Care Facility of Webster, MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday, January 31 from 4 to 7 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, FOXBOROUGH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 58 Carpenter Street, Foxborough. Interment to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
