Obituary Condolences

Negrotti, John George Of Newton passed away on February 11, 2014 after a long illness. John was born on February 22, 1938 in Newton to Giovanni and Louise (Valente). He is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Pinneo), his children Lorinda Hedtler of Westwood, John and Brenda of West Newton, David and Deborah of Longmont, CO, Robert and Mary of Natick, and Jeanne and Joseph Shields of Bridgewater. His loss is also mourned by his sister Josephine "Pina" Colella and his 11 grandchildren Bobby, Ryan, Peter, Paul Jr, Billy, Jessica, John, Amanda, Caleb, Christian and Nicholas, as well as many more nieces, nephews and beloved family members. He is predeceased by his parents, sister Esther DePasquale and brother Matteo Negrotti. John joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 16 and was able to travel the world as well as meet his future bride Patricia in San Francisco. John's love of travel and genealogical studies led him later in life to Vezzolacca Italy, the birthplace of his father. He continued to go every August for the last 12 years discovering and meeting even more family. John proudly served the city of Newton as an EMT and Firefighter for over 38 years. Visiting hours in the Andrew J. Magni & Son Funeral Home, 365 Watertown St, Rt. 16, NEWTON, Sunday, Feb. 16 and Monday, Feb. 17 from 4-7PM each night and again on Tuesday morning at 9:30AM, before proceeding to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington St, Newton for a 10:30AM Funeral Mass.
