Obituary Condolences

GUERRA, David Andrew 67, of Osterville and Boston, Massachusetts, and Naples Florida, succumbed to cancer peacefully at home in the presence of beloved friends. David was born and raised in Quincy, Massachusetts, the son of the late Evelyn R. and Aurelio M. (Ray) Guerra, and graduated from Quincy High School, class of 1964. Within a few years he graduated from the Northeastern University co-op program in accounting and finance and did graduate work at Columbia Business School in New York City. He became a Certified Public Accountant and was employed with a Big 4 accounting firm in Boston. He later became President of Meridian Finance Company, a part of Meridian Realty Investments. David also carried on a successful private practice throughout his career and recently consulted for D.L. Saunders Real Estate Corporations. He married Patricia Maguire of Lynn, and after many years of a vibrant marriage, he survived her passing in 2003. David possessed a generous heart and enjoyed life and laughter. He was a skilled and avid golfer and a long-time member of the Pocasset Golf Club in Falmouth and recently the Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club of Naples. He loved walking along Lowdermilk Beach in Naples with his best friend and partner Claire OConnor, and relaxing with family and friends on the deck of the home he owned most of his adult life in Osterville on Cape Cod. He is survived by his older brother Kenneth J. Guerra of Claremont, Florida, his younger sister Carolyn G. Varno of Skaneateles, New York, and two generations of nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held from the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt129) LYNN, on Saturday at 9:30AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lynnfield, at 10:30AM. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4-8pm. Directions & guest book
