Obituary Condolences

Shiner, Alfred J. Sr. Age 81. Beloved husband of 61 years to Priscilla (Roina) Shiner, died at home with his family by his side on Monday, March 31, 2014. Loving father and father-in-law of Alfred J. Shiner, Jr., and Eileen Shiner of Peabody, Caren and Richard Ells of Lynnfield, and Darlene and Fred Willis of Marblehead; cherished grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 9; brother of Charles Shiner and his wife Anna of Malden; uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Zella (Vietch) Shiner and his sister, Rita Whynot. Former 30 year owner / operator of Shiner Test Borings in Melrose and U.S. Army Korean Veteran. His family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 4 to 8p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., PEABODY. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at St. Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody. The family requested that memorial contributions be made in his memory to All Care Hospice, www.allcare.org, 210 Market St., Lynn, MA 01901 or to , www.stjude.org, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
