Obituary Condolences

LEBOURVEAU, John Winslow Of Needham, passed away at age 91, January 17, 2014. He was married to Marion Spencer Lebourveau and was the father of three beloved daughters, five precious grandchildren and two dear great grandchildren. John spent his childhood in Somerville, New Jersey, graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and MIT and was called by the US Army Corps of Engineers to work on the Manhattan Project for the atomic bomb during World War II. After the war he spent 40 years with the New England Electric System with responsibility for air and water pollution studies and as the public relations spokesman for environmental programs. He sang in many choral groups, most recently the Retired Mens Glee Club and the North Hill Chorus. He was a sailor and camper and one who lived an interesting and rewarding life. A Memorial Service for John Lebourveau will be held on April 12 at the North Hill Retirement Center, 865 Central Ave., Needham, MA at 11 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the First Parish Unitarian-Universalist Church, 23 Dedham Avenue, Needham, MA 02492 or the Carter Memorial Methodist Church, 800 Highland Avenue, Needham, MA 02494.
