Markham, Edwin S. "Eddie" Age 72, of York Beach, ME and Naples, FL and a former resident of Chelmsford, died peacefully on April 18, 2014 in York, ME. Ed was born on October 17, 1941, the son of the late Edwin and Ann Markham and brother of the late Peter R. Markham, lifelong residents of the Belvidere section of Lowell. He was a graduate of Lowell High School and the College of the Holy Cross in 1963, and attended the Naval Officers Candidate School in Newport, RI. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a Systems Engineer with the IBM Corporation in Poughkeepsie, NY and Boston, MA. Ed is survived by his wife Barbara A. (McArdle) Markham; his three children, Stephen E. Markham and his wife Lee-Anne (Landry), David M. Markham and his wife Jill (Leary), Maryann Markham Gilet and her husband William Gilet Jr. all of Chelmsford; six grandchildren, Erika and Courtney Markham, Avery and Ryan Markham and Kate and Liam Gilet and three cousins, Shelagh Demers of Windham, NH, Cornelia Ruhmann of Lowell, MA and John Curtin of Amesbury, MA; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Patricia and Brian Shaw of Cape Neddick, ME, Donald and Suzanne McArdle of Osterville, MA, David and Martha McArdle of Lowell, MA and Richard and Suzanne McArdle of Falmouth, ME as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Visitation will be held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Wed. from 4 until 8 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford on Thurs. at 11 a.m. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Memory of Edwin Markham to support esophageal and Multiple Myeloma cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
