GLADYS LAVIN McKINNON Obituary
McKINNON, Gladys Lavin Age 91, of Waterville Valley, NH, died of cancer after a short illness on April 23, 2014, with her family at her side. Gladys was born on June 26, 1922 in Leominster, MA to the late Edward and Bella Lavin and was formerly of Wayland, MA. Her husband, Wallace R. McKinnon Jr, predeceased her. In her life, Gladys was a homemaker and an educator of children with Dyslexia. She was an avid hiker, skier and played tennis and bridge. Some of her fondest memories were from time spent outside with her family on the trails of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the Green Mountains of Vermont and Aspen Mountain in Colorado and with her extended family on the ocean beaches of Massachusetts, New York and Florida. She leaves behind four children and their spouses: Anne McKinnon and Andrew Hall; Bruce and Kris McKinnon; John and Deborah McKinnon; Jane McKinnon Johnstone and Malcolm Johnstone; Five grandchildren: Gordon and Douglas Hall, Eliza and Ian McKinnon and Katie Johnstone. Siblings Barbara L. Smith and David Lavin and wife Ann survive her. Brothers Richard Lavin and Robert Lavin predecease her. At her request, memorial services will be private.
