NANCY A.M. (REGAN) SPINNEY Obituary
Spinney, Nancy A.M. (Regan) Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 14th at Bethany Healthcare Center in Framingham, MA where she resided following a heroic battle with a relentless disease. Born Ann Marie Regan in 1933 to Timothy and Katherine Regan, she was the eldest of five children. Nancy attended Our Lady Help of Christian High School in Newton, MA. Following graduation in 1950, Nancy began working as a teller at Newton Waltham Bank and Trust in Newton Center. It was there she met her future father-in-law who introduced her to his son, George P. McGoldrick. Nancy and George married in 1957 and spent 16 wonderful years together before George passed away unexpectedly at the age of 41. After suddenly finding herself a single mother to three children under the age of 9, Nancy turned to her faith and relied upon her strength to move forward. She first expanded the daycare services she provided in her home and then moved on to administration at TSL in Waltham. In 1980 she began working for New England Fuel Institute in Watertown and was eventually promoted to the Exposition Manager, a position she excelled at and enjoyed until she retired in 1995. Nancy raised, educated, loved and supported three happy and healthy children. Along the way, she met the second love of her life, Robert Spinney. Nancy and Bob married in 1983 and spent 28 years together enjoying life and traveling the world. They eventually moved full time to her beloved Green Harbor, MA. Nancy is the loving mother of Robert Spinney Jr., and his wife Naomi of Orangevale, CA; Donna MacDonald and her husband Harmon of Praireville, LA; the late Kevin Spinney and his wife Kayrie of Gonzales, LA; Heidi Ralphs of Thousand Oaks, CA; George McGoldrick and his wife Pamela of Watertown, MA; Marnie McGoldrick and her husband Michael DeSantis of Belmont, MA; and Tim McGoldrick and his wife Theresa of Watertown, MA. She is the dear sister of Bernadette Kelly of Laconia, NH, Patricia Hirtle of Harwich Port, MA, Jack Regan of Newport, RI, and Maureen Heavey of Medfield, MA. She is the beloved grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is also a cherished sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and loyal friend to many. The celebration of her life will begin with visiting hours on Monday, May 19th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Andrew J. Magni & Son Funeral Home, 365 Watertown Street, Rt. 16, NEWTON, MA. The celebration will continue with a funeral mass to be held the next day, May 20th, at Our Lady Help of Christian Church, 573 Washington Street, Newton, at 10:30 a.m. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Cure PSP Foundation, www.PSP.org. Andrew J. Magni & Son FH, Newton www.magnifuneralhome.com
