SPINAZOLA, Louis P. 96, of Venice, FL, formerly of Swampscott, MA, peacefully went to his maker, Sunday, May 11, 2014. He was the husband of Jeanetta Spinazola, Venice, FL, and the late Jeanette Spinazola of Lynn, MA. Born in Bridgewater, MA, he was the son of Italian immigrants, Pasquale Spinazola and Rosaline Ruggiero. "Spinny", as affectionately called, the third son in a family of nine children, grew up in Framingham, MA. He served our country in the United States Navy during WWII until receiving his honorable discharge in 1946. A talented musician, he used his skills to entertain the troops as well as a great many of those he came into contact with throughout his life. During his early career with Waltham Watch Company, Spinny became fascinated with all the tiny intricate parts involved in watch making. Using his entrepreneurial skills and love of adventure he then went on to become founder of New England Swiss Machine of Lynn, MA. Spinny possessed a mischievous twinkle in his eye leading to fun for all. Generous, fun to be with, and in possession of so many stories from the past, he will be remembered as a delight to be with. Spinny also leaves his step-daughter, Nancy Kelly and son-in-law, Thomas Kelly of Nokomis, FL; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Segreti and great-grandchildren, Alexys and Nicholas Segreti of Venice, FL; his sister, Rosaline of Maine; his godson & nephew, Joseph A. Spinazola, Jr. and his wife, Carol of Sterling, MA; and several nieces and nephews throughout New England. A brief memorial service and burial for Spinny will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Hwy 72, Sarasota, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5596 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238.
