Obituary Condolences

MORRIS, Philip J. Phil Of Braintree, passed away June 8, 2014, at the age of 44. Beloved son of Philip P. and Joan (Duggan) Morris of Braintree. Loving father of Anna Morris of Cumberland, RI. Phil was the former husband of Kelly (Nickson) Morris of Cumberland, RI. Devoted brother of Carole Sessine and her husband, Michael, of Pembroke and Johanna Brennan and her husband, Martin, of Darien, CT. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Phil was born in Boston, grew up in Braintree, and was a graduate of Boston College High School. He received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston. He was a Project Manager/Engineer on several of the largest construction projects in Boston and Rhode Island including the Dear Island Waste Water Treatment Plant, the Fresh Pond Water Treatment Facility, the Central Artery/Tunnel Project (Big Dig), the RISD Museum in Providence, and the Clinton Avenue Pump Station Renovation in Scituate, Rhode Island. His kindness and humanity were his trademark. He was so proud of his Irish heritage and traced his family line back to 1763. He was an avid follower of Boston sports teams, especially the Red Sox. He completed the Boston Marathon twice and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., BRAINTREE until 9:30 AM Thursday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, So. Braintree Sq. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Milton Cemetery, Milton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Philip J. Morris '88 Scholarship at BC High School, 150 Morrissey Blvd., Boston, MA 02125 or online at www.bchigh.edu/give.
