1917 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Hall, Edith "Aida" (DeLoffi) Age 96 of Peabody, formerly of Weston and Belgrade, ME died July 15 at Brooksby Village in Peabody, where she had resided for the past 10 years. Born October 21, 1917 in Newton, daughter of Nicola and Maria (Vassalotti) DeLoffi, she was educated in the Newton schools, graduating in 1935. Married in 1952 to Elliott W. Hall until his death in 1991, the couple lived in Weston and Belgrade, ME. With a B.S. from Boston College School of Nursing and an M.S. from Boston University School of Nursing, Edith was a school nurse and kindergarten teacher in the Boston Public Schools. Prior to her marriage, she served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1943–1946 and from 1951–1952 she was an instructor at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, IL. Edith was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Elliott, and her 7 siblings: Nunzi DeSantis, Corine Cunningham, Josephine Toto, Louise Colette, John DeLoffi Thomas DeLoffi, Sr. and Joseph DeLoffi She is survived by her step-daughter, Judith Hall Williams (AZ), step grand-sons, James Williams (CT), Jared Williams (AZ), her loving caretakers for the past 10 years, nephew Thomas DeLoffi, Jr. and his wife Audrey (FL & ME) and many nieces and nephews. Edie will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her special love for children and dogs. Her family is most thankful for the loving care she received from the staff at Brooksby Village and more recently the staff of Care Dimensions. Memorial service in the Magni FH, 365 Watertown St, NEWTON on Tues, July 22 at 11am.
