RITA EDITH STUART

STUART, Rita Edith 86, of West Roxbury, passed away at her home June 16, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born in Lyndon, VT, the younger of two children born to Doris and Charles Stuart both from St. Johnsbury, Vermont. She was predeceased by her sister, Margery Finlayson. Rita was the loving aunt of David, Steven, Brenda and Scott Finlayson. In addition, she had many grand nieces and nephews who brought her joy and many smiles over the years. Rita was a long active member of the Bethany First United Methodist Church in Roslindale serving as the treasurer for over twenty years and participated in the children's programs. During her retirement years she volunteered at the local elementary school helping children with their reading skills. She graduated from Bates College and was employed at the Boston Five Cents Savings throughout her whole career. Rita had a fondness for animals, especially for her cat, Mittens. She loved sweets of all kinds, and enjoyed frequent trips to the local bakery and ice cream parlor. She will be remembered with much love from all who knew her. Services will be private.
