O'BRIEN, Gloria Frances

(Nolan) Of Milton, MA, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was the youngest of four daughters of the late Peter and Annie (Walsh) Nolan, the sister of the late Mary Nolan, Helen Barry & Angeline Smith. She was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Jamaica Plain and earned a bachelor's degree in teaching from Boston State College (now the University of Massachusetts). Gloria taught for many years at the elementary level in the Boston School System. While going to college and teaching she modeled part time for a top modeling agency in Boston. Gloria was also the house model for a major dress manufacturer and was active as a professional model throughout her adult life. Gloria is survived by her adoring husband of 62 years, Superior Court Judge John J. O'Brien (Retired) whom she met in the sixth grade. Gloria is also survived by her children and eleven grandchildren: John J. O'Brien, Jr., Esq., and his wife, Maura, of Westwood, MA and their children Connaught, Jill, Sara, Aimee, Ian and Emmett; Steven M. O'Brien, Esq. of Georgetown, MA and his children Margaret and Nolan; Russell P. O'Brien, Esq. of Wenham, MA and his wife, Linda Duryea, Esq., and their son, Harrison, and an estranged daughter. Gloria is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 4 - 7 pm at Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., MILTON, MA. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at St. Agatha's Catholic Church, Milton, MA. Interment in Milton Cemetery.
